Anushka Sharma was born on May 01, 1988 in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh to Colonel Ajay Kumar and Ashima Sharma. Her father was in the Indian Army while her mother was a homemaker. She has an elder brother, Karnesh Sharma who was part of the Merchant Navy.
Due to her father’s transferable job, Sharma was raised in Bangalore and did her schooling from the Army School. She earned her bachelor degree from the Mount Carmel College. She aspired to become a model or a journalist and never thought of becoming an actor. She later joined the Elite Model Management where she was under the strict grooming of Prasad Bidapa.
