Howard Allan Stern is a famous American radio personality who is also known for his work on television. Stern is also an actor, producer, photographer and author who rose to nationwide face for hosting ‘The Howard Stern Show’, a nationally broadcast radio show that airs on Sirius XM Radio. The show was also created for TV with the same name. Stern has also produced other TV shows like ‘The Howard Stern Interview’, ‘Howard Stern’, ‘The Howard Stern Radio Show’ and ‘Howard Stern on Demand’.
Stern describes himself as the “King of All Media” and has produced several late-night TV shows, home videos and pay-per-view events. He earned roaring success as a radio artiste and authored two books, ‘Private Parts’ and ‘Miss America’. In 2012, Stern was felicitated with an induction into the prestigious National Radio Hall of Fame.

Early Life and Education
Stern was born on 12 January 1954 in Queens, New York City and was raised in Roosevelt, Long Island, New York. He is the youngest of the two children born to office clerk, homemaker ad inhalation therapist Ray Schifffman Stern and World War II veteran, radio engineer and recording studio owner Ben Stern. Stern has one sibling, an elder sister named Ellen.
Stern was educated at the Washington-Rose Elementary School in Roosevelt after which he went to Roosevelt Junior-Senior High School. He also attended the Hebrew School where he was named Tzvi. At age 15, Stern began attending the South Side High School, graduating in 1972. Stern spent 2 years at College of Basic Studies, Boston University before he could be enrolled into Boston University’s School of Public Communication. There, he worked at the WTBU campus radio station. He earned a diploma from the Radio Engineering Institute of Electronics, Fredericksburg, Virginia and earned a radio-operator license and started serving as a radio professional at WNTN radio, Newton, Massachusetts in 1975. He graduated in 1976 with a major in Broadcasting and a minor in English and speech.
Career Rise
After graduation, Stern began working at WRNW radio, Briarcliff Manor, New York where he hosted a four-hour midday before he was promoted to production director and later, program director. He began serving at the Hartford, Connecticut based WCCC rock station where he hosted a 6-hour-show and worked on production in the remaining three hours. He also hosted a talk show on Sunday mornings and later worked at the WWWW rock station in Detroit Michigan. In 1981, Stern joined WWDC in EWashington DC, but lasted there for a year before he recieved a 5 year contract from WNBC, New York City. The same year, he released 50 Ways to Rank Your Mother, a comedy-song parody album with Fred Norris. Despite becoming the most popular radio jockey on the network, Stern’s controversial statements resulted in his being fired in 1985.
Stern started serving at New York City’s K-Rock radio station (WXRK) where he served for 20 years. His show became so popular that it was picked for simulcast in 60 markets other states. He hosted the The Howard Stern Show, a variety show on WWOR-TV fromm 1990 to 1992. Stern has also hosted several pay-per view events, late night TV show and home videos. He also authored the books ‘Private Parts’ and ‘Miss America’. While the former was made into a film, the latter was made into an album. Stern hosted the shows, ‘The Howard Stern Interview’ and ‘Howard Stern’ on the E! Network and from 1998-2001 served as the host of ‘The Howard Stern Radio Show’ on a CBS affiliate. From 2005-2013, he appeared on ‘Howard Stern on Demand’ on the in Demand digital cable. He also appeared as a judge on America’s Got Talent from 2012-2015.

Stern has been married twice. Stern was first married at the age of 24, to his girlfriend from Boston University, Alison Berns. The couple tied the knot at the Ohabei Shalom temple in Brookline, Massachusetts in June 1978 and became parents to three daughters named Emily Beth, Debra Jennifer and Ashley Jade. Their marriage took a toll due to Stern’s workaholic tendencies and the couple separated in 1999 and were officially divorced in 2001.
Stern then dated American actresses and models Angie Everhart and Robin Givens before he began a romantic relationship with TV host and model Beth Ostrosky. Stern married her in October 2008 at the Le Cirque restaurant, New York City in a ceremony officiated by actor Mark Consuelos. The couple do not have any children together.
