Early life and background
She was born in 26th April 1970 in Sevnica, part of Yugoslavia. She was born to Victor Knavs, a car and motorcycle dealer and his wife Amalija, a patternmaker at children’s clothing manufacturer by profession. She has an elder sister, Ines and a half-brother from her father’s past relationship.
After completing her education from Slovenian University, Trump moved on to study design and architecture from University of Ljubljana. However, there is controversy around this claim, her website says she has earned the degree but close sources have denied the fact.
Career
Trump set her foot in the show biz quite early, at the age of 16; she signed an agreement with a modeling agency in Milan. Trump was jet-setting between photo shoots in Milan and Paris, before settling down in New York City in 1996. While still at Milan she qualified as the runner-up for ‘Jana Magazine-Look of the Year’ in 1992. Trump also graced the cover of ‘Vogue’ and ‘Vanity Fair’. She was also featured in the cover page of ‘Harper’s Bazaar’, ‘British GQ’, and ‘Avenue’. She posed as a bikini model in ‘Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue’ in 2000.
Trump was an actively involved with ‘Police Athletic League’. In 2005, she acted as the ‘Honorary Chairwoman’ for ‘Martha Graham Dance Company’. She was honored with ‘Goodwill Ambassador’ award by The American Red Cross after her tenure of four long years with them.
Trump has appeared in numerous TV series. She was seen co-hosting ‘The View with Barbara Walters’.
In the beginning of 2010, Trump unveiled her precious jewelry collection to the public eye.

The 1.8 meter tall Melania Trump met Donald Trump in 1996 at a ‘Fashion Week’ party in New York. The couple got close after both of them appeared in a campaign for the ‘Reform Party’ together. Donald was still married when he met Melania Trump. Later in 2004, the couple got engaged, in the beginning of 2005, on 22nd Jan, Donald Trump married Melania in Florida.
The massive wedding took place at The Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-sea in Palm Beach. The celebrity guest list was huge, personalities like Bill Clinton, Rudy Giuliani, Heidi Kulm and Katie Couric attended the ceremony. The couple exchanged the vows in the presence of the Media.
A year later in 2006, a son named Barron William Trump was born to the couple. The age difference between Melania and her husband is 24 years.

Recently, Trump got tangled in a controversy when she delivered a speech live on air in the first day of the ‘2016 republican national Convention’. Trump’s speech was tagged as an ‘act of plagiarism’ by the media, when they found a part of it to be very similar to a speech given by Michelle Obama in 2008.
