Omarosé Onée Manigault, known popularly as ‘Omarosa’ is a former American reality and television personality who served as a White House political aide under current U.S. President Donald J. Trump. In the Trump administration, Omarosa was the director of communications for the Public Liaison Office after assuming office on 20 January 2017, only to resign on January 20, 2018.
Omarosa first came into the limelight when she appeared on the first season of the popular reality television show ‘The Apprentice’ by Donald Trump. She was one of the most infamous contestants on the show, and has participated on the show on three different seasons, including ‘Celebrity Apprentice: All Stars’. Omarosa has also participated on various other reality shows and was included in the 2013 TV Guide list of one of the Nastiest 60 Television Villains of all time.

Early Life and Education
Omarosa was born on 5 February 1974 in Youngstown, Ohio to Jack Thomas Manigault, Sr. and Theresa Marie Walker. When she was just seven years old, her father was murdered. Omarosa had two siblings, an older brother named Jack Thomas Manigault, Jr. who was murdered in 2011 and an older sister named Gladys Louise Manigault who passed in February 2016.
Omarosa attended and graduated from The Rayen School, Youngstown and moved to Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio, and graduated in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. She later enrolled into Howard University, Washington D.C. to earn her master’s degree, and also applied for a Ph.D in Communications, but was unable to complete it. Omarosa also trained at the Payne Theological Seminary at Wilberforce, Ohio, where she studied the Bible.
Career Rise
Omarosa started her career in the 1990’s, working for Vice President Al Gore in the Clinton Administration, where she served as a Special Assistant of Logistics and was later named the Deputy Associate Director for the Presidential Personnel. However, an anonymous Gore staffer claimed that she was actually serving as a Scheduling Correspondent. She was later moved to the Commerce Department by the personnel office of White House. Omarosa became a public figure after her appearance on Donald Trump’s reality show ‘The Apperentice’ on NBC and soon earned the title of being the “woman America loved to hate” and E! called her the “number 1 bad girl” on Reality TV. She also participated in its spin off ‘Celebrity Apprentice: All Stars’. She also collaborated with Trump on a dating show titled ‘The Ultimate Merger’ on TV One Network.
In the July 2016 Republican National Convention, Omarosa was named the Director of African-American Outreach for the presidential campaign of Donald Trump. After Trump was elected President, Omarosa was named the President’s assistant and was made the Communications director for the Public Liaison Office in January 2017.
On December 13, 2017, Omarosa stated that she was resigned from the Trump cabinet. Though it was disputed by a few sections of the media, that Omarosa was fired, she said that she has resigned on her own accord.
When she joined Celebrity Big Brother, Omarosa hit the headlines when she had publicly criticized Trump administration in the reality show. She went on to say that she would not vote for Trump again. Omarosa made it to the top 5 finalists in the show.
Personal Life
Omarosa has been married twice. She was married to Aaron Stallworth from October 2000-2005. In 2010, she started dating Michael Clarke Duncan and was with him until he died of a cardiac arrest in September 2012.
In April 2017, Omarosa got married to John Allen Newman, who serves as a Senior Pastor in Jacksonville, Florida. The couple tied the knot at the Trump hotel in Washington D.C. Omarosa is also an ordained Baptist minister and pursued a Doctor of ministry degree from the United Theological Seminary. She has a preachers licence and was formally ordained in February 2012.
