Kapil Sharma is a popular Indian stand-up comedian, actor, host, producer and singer. He is best known for his show “Comedy Nights with Kapil” which was broadcasted by the Colors network. Early life and background
Kapil Sharma was born on 2nd April 1981 in Amritsar , Punjab. His father, Jeetendra Kumar, was a head constable in Punjab Police. His mother, Janak Rani, is a home maker. He has one brother and a sister. Kapil’s father died in the year 2004 due to cancer. Kapil Sharma attended the Shri Ram Ashram Sen. Sec. School for his schooling. Thereafter, he joined the Hindu college to complete his graduation degree. From his childhood Kapil had an inclination towards theatre. After the death of his father, Kapil started working in theatres to support his family. Due his acting talent, several colleges sponsored his acting school fees.
Career
After completing his graduation, Kapil Sharma moved his base to Mumbai and started working as a theatre artist. During that period, he used to very earn a pittance. In subsequent years, he got the chance to work in a comedy show named “Hasde Hasande Raho” which was broadcasted by MH One. Lady luck favored Kapil , when he got the chance to take part in “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge”. The show earned him media attention. In 2007, Kapil became the winner of the show and won Rs 10 lakh as prize money. Thereafter, he participated in “Comedy Circus” which was broadcasted by the Sony Entertainment Television. Due to his talent, Kapil became the winner of 6 seasons of “ Comedy Circus”. He was also a participant of Ustaadon Ka Ustaad.
Kapil Sharma hosted many significant events and shows in his career which include Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 6, Chhote Miyan, 60th Filmfare awards, Celebrity Cricket League 2014 etc. He also got the opportunity to appear as a guest in programs like Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 8 and The Anupam Kher Show.
