Shannon Bream was born as Shannon Noelle de Puy, on 23rd December, 1970 to teacher Maria Norris and Commissioner Ed de Puy, in Florida, U.S.A. She attended Liberty University, Virginia, and then graduated at 17 years of age. While graduating, she entered Miss Virginia beauty pageant and won the title in 1990. In 1991, she was one of the top ten finalists for Miss America pageant, earning a huge scholarship for her education. She graduated in 1993, after which she went to law School. While at law school she won the pageant of Miss Florida, 1995 and the third runner-up in Miss USA, 1995 pageant.

Shannon Bream attended Florida State University College of Law in the year 1996. After that she moved on to Tampa, beginning her career in law, specializing in sexual harassment cases. Loss of interest in legal profession in 2000, led her to choose the career of media and journalism, making her enter the world of reporting on television. She then worked as a corporate lawyer during the day and an intern for writing scripts for ABC news channel during the night. Later she moved to Charlotte, USA where she became a late night news reporter for WBTV. In the year 2004, she joined WRC-TV, where she did some general assignments and was the weekend reporter.
