Doocy was born on July 21 in New Jersey, United States. He was raised in a family which was an upper-middle class one. His parents Kate Gritty and Steve Doocy have two more children apart from Peter. They are sisters named Mary and Sally. Peter’s mother Kate worked as a model and was a child actress as well. His mother also had a magazine show in ESPN that is broadcasted regularly. Peter’s family lives together happily and they have a lot of affection for each other. He did his graduation from Villanova University. In 2009, he started with his career as a general assignment reporter in Fox News Channel. He has covered numerous stories like Hurricane Sandy reports, Midwest 2011 floods, Presidential election held in 2008 and 2012, Dick Chaney’s heart transplant operation that took place in 2012. He also covered the shooting of Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut. Peter regularly reports from Capitol Hill and White House.
Peter took an exclusive interview of a former Navy Seal, Robert O’Neil. This interview led to the highest ratings of the News Channel. The show was The Man Who Killed Osama Bin Laden. He had also worked in Fox and Friends occasionally. He had a chance to cover the live shooting of a TV reporter of WDBJ, Alison Parker with the cameraman, Adam Ward. This incident took place in August 2015.
Controversy
When he was in the college as a junior in 2008, the 6 feet 1 inch tall Peter Doocy dared to ask John McCain about Hillary’s drinking episodes. This took place when John McCain was on a Hardball College at Villnova University with Chris Mathews. Mathew gave a sarcastic reply to it later saying these were not the questions he was looking forward to.
