Early Life and Education
Bella was born on 8th Oct, 1997, in Pembroke Pines, Florida to Rey Thorne/Delancey Reinaldo Thorne and Tamara Thorne. Her father was Cuban. He passed away in a car accident in 2007. Bella has 3 siblings all of whom are also actors. She grew up in poverty, in a suburban area, while her single mother was working and raising 4 children on her own. Hence, she began working as a child actor to support her family. She spoke Spanish at home and as her native tongue.
Bella was dyslexic and it was diagnosed when she was in the first grade. She was bullied at school due to her dyslexia. Hence, she left public school and started home schooling. She later attended Sylvan Learning center which developed her learning skills and soon she started to write and read a grade up. Bella had stated that she overcome her condition by reading anything that she came across, which included cereal boxes’ labels.
Thorne has stated that she was a victim of sexually abuse from a young age till age 14. She has however not identified the abuser/abusers.
Career
In 2003, Bella had an uncredited role as a fan on the sidelines in the movie ‘Stuck On You.’ She then appeared in different TV and film projects such as The O.C. and Entourage.
She got her first major role in TV in 2007 with the character of Margaux Darling in the second season of Dirty Sexy Money. A year later she appeared in drama ‘My Own Worst Enemy’ alongside Taylor Lautner and Christian Slater. She acted in Little Monk web series in 2009. The same year she played the antagonist in ‘Forget Me Not.’ She became a part of the cast of season four of HBO series Big Love in 2010.
In 2010, Bella landed the role of CeCe Jones, an ambitious dancer who craved spotlight-filled career despite being afflicted with dyslexia, in the Disney sitcom ‘Shake It Up.’ This role is what brought her widespread recognition and fame. She had no professional experience in dancing before being cast. After she sang herself into the show, she started taking dance classes. Thorne appeared in all 3 seasons of the show.
Bella acted alongside Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler in the 2014 comedy flick ‘Blended.’ She then also appeared in a slew of movies like The DUFF; Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day; and Alexander and the Terrible. She starred in the movie ‘Big Sky’, MTV slasher series ‘Scream,’ animated movie ‘The Frog Kingdom,’ TV movie Shovel Buddies, Tyler Perry’s Boo! A Madea Halloween, and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip.
In 2017, she played the role of regular college student Paige Townsen in the drama ‘Famous in Love.’ She also acted in Netflix movie ‘You Get Me.’ In 2018, she starred in romantic drama movie Midnight Sun.

- In August 2016, Thorne stated that she was bisexual. She has previously dated Gregg Sulkin, Tana Mongeau and Mod Sun. There are reports that she is still dating Mod Sun.
